Choose the target and demand
Sanctions in Geoplanetical are a set of specific measures, not one universal trade-off switch. Open Diplomacy → Sanctions, choose the Target, and set the Demand. Where the option is available, a ceasefire and withdrawal demand can be linked to the relevant war.
Start with what you want the target to do, then inspect the instruments your country can actually use. The availability of a measure depends on the situation and your country's leverage.
Select measures and confirm them
Choose individual instruments or an offered package. The developer documents options including arms restrictions, energy restrictions, technology controls, asset freezes and investment restrictions.
Read the preview and any blocking reason before committing. Select Impose the selected sanctions, then use the same control to confirm. Read the result and open the regime's dossier to inspect its members, measures and consequences.
A measure's presence in the list does not establish that every country can use it against every target. Follow the availability shown for your own proposal rather than copying another country's package.
Manage enforcement and additional measures
For an existing regime, Add measures lets you strengthen the package. Your country's enforcement can be Strict, Standard or Lax. Read the estimate of prohibited trade still getting through when comparing those choices.
Imposing a sanction and enforcing it are separate parts of the system. Do not assume selecting a stricter setting means every restricted transaction disappears, or that a sanction guarantees the target will meet your demand.
Withdraw your own participation
Use Withdraw from this regime and confirm if you intend to end your country's participation. Reopen the dossier afterward to check its updated state.
This is a decision for your country. It does not directly order every other participant to lift its restrictions. Keep that distinction in mind when the target still faces a wider international sanctions regime.
The developer's targeted-sanctions guide documents the controls and the distinction between instruments, enforcement and participation.
FAQ
Where do I impose sanctions?
Open Diplomacy → Sanctions, choose the target and demand, then review the available measures.
Can I target a sector instead of cutting all trade?
Yes. The documented instruments include targeted arms, energy, technology, asset and investment restrictions.
Does withdrawing remove everyone else's sanctions?
No. The withdrawal control changes your own country's participation; check the dossier for the remaining regime.
