Build Through Electricity and Manage My Grid

To build a power plant in Geoplanetical, open Electricity → Manage my grid, select a power source and number of units, then choose a site in your country's territory. Review the quoted capacity, price, and construction duration before choosing Build here. That final control begins the construction project.

The official power-plant guide also covers managing existing plants, so building a new installation is not your only available decision.

Review the Quote Before Committing

Work through the proposal in this order:

  1. Select the power source you want to build.
  2. Set the number of units.
  3. Choose an eligible site on your country's territory.
  4. Check the proposed generating capacity, price, and construction duration.
  5. Select Build here when you want to start the project.

Use the quote displayed for your project rather than assuming that every type or location shares a fixed cost or build time. Construction is separate from the act of selecting a source on the planning screen.

Check Whether More Generation Is the Missing Piece

Before starting another plant, compare domestic generation, imports, and unmet demand in Electricity. A shortage can involve fuel or the grid rather than simply too few installed generators.

Under Fuel reserves, inspect the stock, remaining running time, and recent delivery for each fuel. Changing a reserve target does not immediately supply fuel. Likewise, allowing electricity purchases does not build an interconnection or guarantee that a neighbor can sell you power.

Storage has a specific role: it helps recover wind and solar output that your grid currently loses. Treat it as a response to that constraint rather than a substitute for every kind of generation shortage.

Expand or Retire an Existing Plant

Select an existing plant to inspect its available actions. Depending on the installation, you can expand capacity, stop it, restart it, or retire it.

Retirement is a separate decision, and its confirmation shows any decommissioning cost. If you intend to suspend a plant and use it again, inspect the stop and restart controls instead of assuming retirement has the same effect.

FAQ

Which screen starts a new power-plant project?

Open Electricity, choose Manage my grid, select the source and units, then place the project on your territory.

Does changing a fuel target supply the plant immediately?

No. The target sets the desired reserve. Check actual stock and deliveries separately.

Can I expand a plant instead of building another?

Existing plants offer expansion where available. Select the installation and review its controls and quote.
